Whew…what a relief.

If you’re a mom you’ve probably said these words at least once “Don’t eat that now….you’ll spoil your dinner.”

If my 6 year old eats a bag of chips, cookies, strawberries, whatever… it fills his little tummy and there is less room for the meal I’ve prepared.

The weakness of our hunger for God is not because he is unsavory, but because we keep ourselves stuffed with “other things”. John Piper A Hunger for God

So If my hunger for God is being satiated elsewhere….that has to stop.  So here’s what I’ve decided to do….

1. Ask God to show me what in my life is taking time away from a relationship with him.

I will pray but I already have an idea of what is in the way…I watch way too much TV!

2. Set a tangible goal to move away from the world and toward God.

For example: Schedule TV viewing. I have very few favorite TV programs.  If I set a goal to only watch my favorites it will greatly reduce the amount of time I spend in front of the TV…freeing up time for other things

Find an interesting Bible study and do it!

3. Tell one of my sisters in Christ about my goal and ask them to hold me accountable.
